Rights oft he Tamil People
The home of the Tamil people is in the North and East of the Island Sri Lanka. It is here that its spiritual, religious and political characters were shaped. It is here that the Tamil people used to live as a free and independent country until the Modern era – when the Portuguese overcame and annexed the Tamil kingdom in 1619. Likewise it is here that its national culture evolved.
Just like any other people, the Tamil people has the right to define its history under its own authority. |
